Bhutan Adventure
Starting in the east, our wonderful Bhutan wildlife adventure took us right across the country to the west along the slopes of the Himalayas, reaching just above 4000 metres at our highest point.

With rainforests, mangrove swamps, savannahs and tropical reefs, this was presented as a nature lovers paradise and we were not disappointed.
Huge flocks of cranes winter in Extremadura and I wanted to see them. With plenty of birds, and good food as well, we had a great time during this intensive birding trip.
Goodbye Norway, hello Finland again Day 14 (1 June): We drove back to Ivalo, having another good look at the snowy mountains before heading for the Tana River and crossing the border back into Finland. Day 12 (30 May): We drove to Båtsfjord with stops for birding on the way. The road took us along Tana river and we stopped at Tanamunningen before driving over the mountains to Båtsfjord. Just before we started the descent, Ruth spotted a Snowy Owl, a first for her and for most of the rest of us too.
