Exploring the Peloponnese in spring, with birds, wildflowers, orchids, butterflies, lizards, a Golden Jackal and visits to historic sites across the Mani.
This was a wonderful blend of wildlife, scenery, and culture. Each day brought unique sightings, from golden eagles and bee-eaters to orchids and rare spiders, set against a backdrop of mountains, rivers, and historic towns.
Starting in the east, our wonderful Bhutan wildlife adventure took us right across the country to the west along the slopes of the Himalayas, reaching just above 4000 metres at our highest point.
With rainforests, mangrove swamps, savannahs and tropical reefs, this was presented as a nature lovers paradise and we were not disappointed.
Huge flocks of cranes winter in Extremadura and I wanted to see them. With plenty of birds, and good food as well, we had a great time during this intensive birding trip.
