Arrocampo Dam – Monfragüe National Park

The following morning we set off for the marshes of Arrocampo. We had some great views of Purple Swamphens and several Little Bitterns but the highlight for me was a beautiful male Penduline Tit, nicely perched in front of us. This was a great place for birding.

We reluctantly left this reserve and headed back up to the Monfragüe National Park, stopping for lunch by the River Tietar bridge.

We made a last stop at La Portilla del Tietar to see the Spanish Imperial Eagles before heading back to our lodge.
